Background

Tara Segars is a printmaker whose work focuses on nostalgia through classic video game arcade centers. She is interested in how memory can distort our recollection of specific environments and likes to incorporate the “act of play” into her work. During her graduate program, she helped coordinate the virtual Mid-America Print Council (MAPC) Symposium. She received her MFA in Print Media from Kent State in 2021, after which she completed a printmaking residency at Zygote Press in Cleveland, OH.

She keeps an active exhibition record and has most notably been included in the “2022 Screenprint Biennial” in Albany/Buffalo, New York, “New Impressions 2022” at the Hamilton Wood Type & Printing Museum in Two Rivers, WI, “PrintWork” at Artist Image Resource in Pittsburgh, PA, and “The New South 5” at Kai Lin Art in Atlanta, GA.
