Background

Daniel began working part-time at Fame Recording Studios in Muscle Shoals, Ala while earning his bachelor’s degree from the University of North Alabama. After graduation he began working full-time at Fame and eventually progressed to Studio Manager and Chief Engineer. In 2003 Daniel started working at his home church as the front of house sound engineer, and later served as Media Director. In 2014 he moved to a full-time position there overseeing all audio, video, marketing, website, and graphic design. In 2005 Daniel left his full-time position at Fame Recording Studios to begin working as a freelance engineer at his own project studio as well as other recording studios in Muscle Shoals including Wishbone and Big Star. In the spring of 2018 Daniel was an adjunct instructor at Calhoun Community College and taught and developed the curriculum for the Musical Acoustics class.

Daniel has worked on two projects which were nominated for Grammy Awards in 2014 – “Django Unchained” Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media – Co-Producer and Engineer of the track “Freedom” by Elayna Boynton & Anthony Hamilton – “Muscle Shoals” Best Compilation Soundtrack for Visual Media – Assistant Engineer of the track “Pressing On” by Alicia Keys Daniel has also recorded and/or mixed multiple #1 songs and albums by Smooth Jazz artist, Eric Essix
