Opening reception and artist talk for award-winning artist Tiril's "shakti" art exhibit inspired by Kandinsky's ideology that "the more abstract its form, the more clear and direct its appeal."
Come see the 5th Annual Juried art exhibit in conjunction with Wheeler National Wildlife Refuge Festival of the Cranes which is held the second weekend of January. The exhibition is a display of innovative and progressive works that utilizes a diversity of art forms and media that depicts Whooping cranes, Sandhill cranes, birds, raptors, fish, any wildlife, and nature.
Over 125+ pieces of art work created by Calhoun Community College students are on display in the main and walking galleries. The final chance to see it is Thursday evening during the Jazz Under the Stars free community concert featuring the Calhoun Jazz Band.
The awards reception for the Spring 2019 Calhoun Community College Student Art Show is scheduled for 12:00pm to 1:00pm on Tuesday, April 16, 2019.
