Background
Patrick Sullivan spent 17 years performing on tuba, tenor trombone, and bass trombone for the Army Bands throughout the world. Through his travels, he had the opportunities to perform in 12 different countries across three continents throughout Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and nearly everywhere in the United States. While serving in the Army Bands and as a freelance musician, he performed in jazz combos, Dixieland bands, rock bands, funk bands, Latin bands, polka bands, big bands, marching bands, concert bands, orchestras, brass quintets, brass quartets, trombone quartets, trombone quintets, and trombone choirs.
When not performing in ensembles, he is busy arranging and composing music as well as teaching low brass private lessons.
Throughout Patrick’s time as an Army Musician, he spent a lot of time in the recording studios and performing on big stages that require large sound systems. During this time, he took the time to learn the behind the scenes of the operations. This behind the scenes learning sparked an interest in how to properly mic everything from drum sets to vocals to horns. All of this allowed him to be able to set up his own recording studio at home to record demos for new compositions and arrangements as well as record parts for film scores and podcasts.
Patrick has written music for television, podcasts, films, commercials, and just about every ensemble type you can think of out there in the world.
