Middlesex University, London, M.A Professional Practice and Dance Pedagogy

Jennifer began her professional dance career in England following training at one of the UK’s oldest professional theater schools and colleges where she studied under the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD), and Imperial Society for the Teacher’s of Dance (ISTD) training.

After obtaining her British Equity Card and touring throughout the UK, Europe and parts of Asia, Jennifer was offered a teaching position in both dance and theater performance at her former school. From here, a lifelong passion for teaching and developing young, professional talent, began. Many of Jennifer’s former students have moved into professional careers in both film, television and theater.

Prior to moving to Huntsville, Alabama, Jennifer owned a successful talent management company and a small theater school in Fredericksburg, Virginia with young performers appearing alongside actors such as Robert De Niro, Anne Hathaway and Claire Danes, a Sundance Award nominated short film, and even an FBI training video at Quantico!

Former dance students have been accepted into South Carolina School for the Arts, the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA), the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art Musical Theater (RADA), the Rockettes, Summer Intensive and the Royal Ballet School, Summer Intensive.

Since moving to Huntsville, Jennifer has enjoyed teaching classical ballet at Huntsville Ballet School and has served as Director of Dance at the School of Fine Arts, Decatur

Jennifer feels incredibly excited and blessed to have joined the Calhoun/Athens State/ACA family!

Classical Ballet, Contemporary/Modern, Tap, Jazz, Dance Appreciation and just about anything dance related! Full-time instructor for Calhoun Community College and Adjunct Instructor for Athens State University.

When not teaching dance, Jennifer enjoys developing non fiction projects aimed at helping ‘dance parents’ navigate an often complex industry. Jennifer is also interested in dance history, especially early 20th century English theater schools many of which were run and maintained by women against the backdrop of two World Wars, evacuations and theater kids singing in the bomb shelters! Now there’s an idea for a class!
