Forester is an M.F.A. candidate in Integrative Arts from Athens State University and he holds a B.A. in Art from Athens State University. He is to be the first graduate of the Athens State University MFA Program, as well as the first individual to be awarded a terminal degree from Athens State University. He has been recognized with several awards, including the ACA Foundation Award and the Speedball Student Scholarship.
Forester’s thesis research investigates the role of Fantastic Realism as a visual framework for expressing wynorrific aesthetics, a term describing the simultaneous experience of wonder and horror. His work explores how contemporary realist methods can depict the sublime contradictions of human experience, revealing the beauty of creation intertwined with the terror of decay. Employing classical methods of drawing, painting, and printmaking, Forester reinterprets historical realism through speculative and symbolic imagery to join the attitudes of historic artists with contemporary understandings of expression.
The works in the exhibition are for sale.
