Creative Corners: Japanese Bookbinding (Half Day Camp)

Discover the beauty of Japanese stab binding! This timeless bookbinding style uses elegant, visible stitches along the spine to create simple yet striking notebooks. In this workshop, beginners will learn classic stab-binding patterns and leave with their own handmade journal featuring decorative papers and thoughtful details. Students are welcome to bring patterned papers, postcards, or collage scraps to personalize their covers and make each book truly unique. Along the way, we’ll also explore a few basic folded structures you can recreate at home with minimal tools. No experience needed – just curiosity and a love for crafting!
This half day camp is for students 18+. Ages 15-17 will be accepted only if a parent or guardian is also participating, as the process can be tricky for younger students.
Registration is $30 per person, which includes snacks and art supplies.
