Calhoun Visual Arts is proud to announce CREATIVE CORNERS 2025! These 1-day summer camp experiences are open to ages 16-99. All are welcome!

Bookbinding for Beginners with Tara Segars, Calhoun Art Instructor

Learn the art of bookbinding! Coptic bound books have an open spine with linked stitches, which allow the pages to lay flat when open. In this workshop, students will learn the basic (& easy!) Coptic Stitch to create small sketchbooks with collaged covers. Students are encouraged to bring any scrapbooking or collaging materials that fit their personality. Along with the stitching, students will learn basic folded book structures. No experience is necessary. All materials will be provided (again you are encouraged to bring your own supplies to make things more personal though), including snacks. (Lunch is not provided.)
