ACA hosts Artists in Residence from the Alvin Batiste Jazz Institute

ACA is going “Back to the Roots” as we host the “Alvin Batiste Jazz Institute” Jazz Residency (Roderick “Rev” Paulin and John Gray)! A community workshop/clinic, a concert featuring the Calhoun Community College Show Band and Guest Artists, and an after-party jam session.

Free and open to the public.

Wednesday, October 23 schedule:

1:30pm – Calhoun Show Band Rehearsal with Guest Artists (closed to the public)

4:00pm – Alvin Batiste Jazz Institute Community Talk & Workshop. Free and open to the public.

Thursday, October 24 schedule:

7:00pm – Special Concert featuring the Calhoun Show Band with Guest Artists

Featuring Special Guest Artists:

John Gray, Trumpeter/Educator

Roderick “Rev” Paulin, Saxophonist/Educator

Immediately following the concert, there will be an “after-party” jam session at The Brick with professional musicians, Guest Artists, and students. Community and professional musicians are encouraged to bring their horns!
